Sturling League (Fall)
**Sturling - The official 2 - person team sport of curling**

The Sturling League Starts Thursday, November 14th, 2024 and runs for 6 weeks.
- This is an open League.
- Teams can be comprised of any combination of gender types.
- Fees - $67/person/Session plus Curling Alberta/Canada fee* ($17/person) plus GST. *Curling Alberta/Canada fee will only be charged once per curler/season, regardless of the number of Leagues that you join.
- Registration opens on Sept 30, 2024
- Games start at 12:30 pm every Thursday for 6 weeks
- Games run approx 60 to 90 minutes
- Both players on a team must complete a separate registration
- If you don't have a partner to enter with we will pair players together as required.
Rules of Sturling
Each team is comprised of two players. One member of each team stays at each end of the rink.
The two delivering players alternately deliver 6 stones each per end, while their teammate skips that end. The roles are then reversed , and their partners deliver the stones back.
All games are six ends. In the case of a tie, an extra end is played, with each player delivering 3 stones (skips and deliverers exchange roles at the midpoint of an extra end). If an end is blanked the hammer is retained.
No stone may be removed from play prior to delivery of the fourth stone of each end. If that should happen, the delivered stone is removed from play and all other stones are returned to the original positions.
Sweeping/brushing is allowed only from the hog line to the back of the house at the playing end.
Players must remain on their end of the sheet and must not cross center ice. One timeout per game is allowed where the players are allowed to meet at center ice to confer. At all times the delivering team players are not to cross the hog line on their respective end to discuss with their teammate. If they do so, this is considered a time out.
The stick delivery may begin with (a) either foot in the hack, or (b) from anywhere inside the near hog line with the stone touching the center line. All stones must be released before reaching the hog line.
